Welcome to Gilded Ora Beach Club

Gilded Ora began long before the first towel was ever designed. 

In 2012, we met in Hong Kong while living abroad with our pilot husbands and growing families. What started as a chance meeting quickly turned into a lasting friendship rooted in shared adventures and travel. 

We both returned to the United States, where life brought us back together in the same coastal town, San Clemente, California. Our backgrounds were a perfect fit to launch a brand utilizing Rae's Design resume and Val's longevity in Retail Sales and Operations, the idea of building something together began to take shape.

Naturally, it started with our happy place: the beach.

Gilded Ora means golden hour on the coast and capturing the feeling of the golden moment when land, sea and light meet. It's that moment when everything feels warm, effortless and just a little more beautiful. The perfect time of day when you feel your best, surrounded by the people you love, with nowhere else to be.

Inspired by this feeling, we set out to bring thoughtfully designed Turkish cotton peshtemal beach towels to market. These towels are as functional as they are beautiful. Lightweight, sand-resistant, fast drying and perfectly packable and our towels only get softer with every wash. Whether you are hitting the beach, a picnic, music festival, sitting on the sidelines or wrapped up for a night under the stars, our towels are made to go on the journey.

But, Gilded Ora is about more than towels.

It's about a lifestyle rooted in connection, community and coastal ease. When we aren't working on the brand, you'll find us cheering our kids on for Lacrosse and Soccer, hiking with Gidget and Pippin (our furry Co-Workers) or gathered with family and friends for beach days and sunsets. 

Today, Gilded Ora sells directly though our website, at pop-up events, trunk shows and through a growing network of thoughtfully curated wholesale partners who share their love for our coastal cowgirl aesthetic.
